The Absolut Company

Since its founding in 2004, DGE has maintained a close partnership with The Absolut Company. This collaboration began with ongoing support for regulatory environmental issues related to the production facilities, including periodic inspections, notification matters, REACH compliance, and the company’s self-monitoring.

We have also addressed other issues such as emission rights and sustainability statements, contaminated land, occupational health and safety, waste management, and analytical investigations. Additionally, we have conducted numerous air emission measurements to ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Around 2010, we assisted with the permit application for the company’s distillery under Chapter 9 (environmentally hazardous activities) and Chapter 11 (water operations) of the Environmental Code. We have also been involved in establishing and developing the company’s management system, which is now certified according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, and ISO 45001. We provide support with internal audits (including energy management) and training as needed.

Since 2014, our support has expanded to include sustainability-related issues from a life cycle perspective. We continuously assist with analysis and decision-making support, including various climate calculations and life cycle analyses for both the business and the product. This is particularly important for evaluating different possibilities to achieve the goal of making the product climate neutral by 2030. In November 2021, we helped develop a sustainability addendum to Absolut’s cultivation concept, which wheat suppliers must adhere to.

In terms of communication and marketing support, we work on quality assurance and the formulation of various environmental statements and other communication materials such as websites, presentations, and films. We also assist with sustainability reporting for the entire company, including the brands Malibu and Kahlúa.

Having worked together for so long, we are well-acquainted with both the facilities and the personnel, allowing us to efficiently find the information we need. This familiarity enables us to work smoothly and effectively, leveraging past experiences to solve tasks and tailor solutions to meet the business’s needs and priorities.
